These drop earrings are casts from the shells of the stone pine (Pinus pinea) which once graced my garden.  The stone pine is the tree that produces pine nuts.  These earrings are solid sterling silver with a long silver shepherds crook earwire.  They are also available with gold inner, or with gold vermeil finish (not shown).
